Why do crocodiles have the biggest smiles?

In the quiet late afternoon heat, as the sun lingers in the west, along the riverbank, the fearsome Nile crocodiles make a sanctuary. They set aside all predatory behavior—all violence! Peacefully, the crocodiles sit motionless; their breathing slowed, jaws agape.

When they see a delicious little bird—likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing—the crocodile doesn’t SNAP!

That sweet little bird could even climb into their open mouth, into their very head like an intrusive thought—likable, desirable, agreeable, pleasant, sensual, and arousing—but still, the crocodile doesn’t SNAP!

The crocodile meditates. It abandons all impulse, allowing peace to grow—into friendship. Now plover birds practice gentle dentistry, while crocodiles bask with the biggest smiles.
